PiCToR presents you 19 European research themes

PiCToR advisors attended the ARTEMIS and ITEA-2 brokerage events. The goal of these events is to bring together companies, research institutes and universities, form consortia around innovative project ideas and draft initial project proposals. The PiCToR advisors gathered and processed the presented project ideas, and compiled a set of 19 industry relevant research themes.

Details on the identified themes can be found on the PiCToR Community. PiCToR invites you to browse through these themes, and express your interest. Upon your expression of interest, a PiCToR advisor will contact you to discuss the available opportunities for joining European consortia working on these themes.

PiCToR calls for interest

PiCToR identified three calls for interest on topics that are particularly relevant for the Flemish ICT industry:

Call for interest: electric mobility

PiCToR identified European research opportunities in the area of electric mobility. Topics addressed include: optimization of resource utilization (including batteries) through software, integration with the power grid. There are still slots available for companies.

Call for interest: energy efficiency

PiCToR identified European research opportunities in the area of energy efficiency. Topics addressed include: the creation of a comprehensive information system to manage the improvement of energy performance, including energy efficiency and intensity in all kind of organizations (home, industries, cities, facilities, offices…). There are still slots available for companies.

Call for interest: innovation with online communities

PiCToR identified European research opportunities in the area of innovation processes. A project is in the making to study the role of 'social software' and online communities in those processes. The consortium can still be strengthened by addition of some interested companies.

PiCToR presents project ideas for ICT companies

Prior to the brokerage and networking events, PiCToR advisors visited ICT companies and discussed their R&D challenges and needs. Based on these visits, seven project ideas were distilled and presented by the PiCToR advisors in Amsterdam (ARTEMIS Brokerage Event) and Berlin (ITEA-2 PO Preparation Days).

Four of these ideas attracted significant interest from European partners. PiCToR brought the involved companies in contact with the European R&D consortia, and supports them further in clarifying and shaping their contributions to the projects.

PiCToR monitors upcoming European calls

PiCToR closely follows European research programs that are relevant for the ICT industry. Below is a list of current open calls:
